To Get a Copy of Your Driving Record (Called an Abstract)

To get a copy of your driving record you can go to any Illinois Secretary of State motorist facility and get it or the web site link below. Make sure to get an abstract “for court purposes”. The cost is $13. Download it as a PDF file (not a screen shot) so you can email it to your attorney. Also note you need to download the abstract a file (sending your attorney a link won't work). Here is the link- https://www.ilsos.gov/drivingrecord/

To Deliver Certified Court Disposition Orders

Often when you have a conviction or suspension vacated in court, it takes time for the Secretary of State to clear the conviction or suspension off your record. This could mean you could wait days or weeks to get you driving privileges back. Rather than wait for the Circuit Court Clerk to send it to the Secretary of State (and the Secretary of State to enter it) you can deliver a certified copy directly to them.  The first step is to go to the Circuit Court Clerk in the county where your case was and get a copy of a "Certified Disposition" to hand deliver to the Secretary of State.  However unless you want to deliver it to Springfield, you can only  file the disposition at one Chicago location.  Here is the address:

Secretary of State

17 N. State St., Ste. 1000

Chicago, IL 60602

312-793-1010
